Whiskers & Wraiths is a gothic creative studio devoted to the quiet things that live in the shadows: the comforting gloom, the stories that linger, and the kind of beauty that is not meant to be found in the daylight.

At its heart, Whiskers & Wraiths is about belonging. It is the belonging of old houses and haunted landscapes, to ritual and routine, to curiosity, creativity, and is the belonging to the gentle friendship of the uncanny and weird. It is a home for gothic storytelling, dark humor, reflective tools, and night-friendly spaces designed to feel grounding rather than overwhelming.

Here you’ll find a growing ecosystem of projects, including atmospheric fiction, bedtime stories, digital tools, and thoughtfully designed apps. Some are practical, some are playful, some are meant to help you focus, rest, or simply feel less alone in the dark. All are shaped by a love of gothic aesthetics, folklore, and quiet resilience.

Whiskers & Wraiths isn’t about fear for fear’s sake, or or darkness worn only as an aesthetic.

It’s about soft horror, cozy unease, and the kind of darkness that feels safe once your eyes adjust. If this sounds like somewhere that you might want to rest and stay for a while, then welcome.

Whiskers & Wraiths is created and tended by Krysten — a writer, storyteller, and lifelong lover of the strange, peaceful comforts of the night. This project grew from a desire to build spaces that feel grounding rather than overwhelming, and to create work that invites curiosity, reflection, and rest.

You’ll see pieces of me throughout this world, but the house itself is meant to belong to anyone who finds their way here.
